(SACRAMENTO) During a special session of the State Assembly this afternoon, Assemblymember Timothy S. Grayson (D-Concord) honored Solano County Supervisor Erin Hannigan as the 14th Assembly District’s Woman of the Year.

Assemblymember Grayson noted: “Supervisor Hannigan has been a true public servant for the people of the 14th Assembly District. During her tenure on the Vallejo City Council she helped lead the city through tough economic times. Since 2013 she has worked tirelessly in her role as a Solano County Supervisor to connect the essential services and operations of the County to the residents in her district. She also helped develop the SolTrans consolidated bus services and has improved public safety by addressing issues such as homelessness and sex trafficking in Solano County. Erin is a model public servant and I’ve been humbled to work with her. I look forward to collaborating with her in the future to tackle many of the major issues facing our community.”

During the annual Woman of the Year celebration, a woman from each Assembly District is honored at the State Capitol. Each honoree is introduced on the Assembly Floor and receives a special certificate honoring her accomplishments. The annual event has been a Capitol tradition since 1987 as a way to highlight the achievements of outstanding women throughout the state during Women’s History Month.

Tim Grayson represents the 14th Assembly District that includes the communities of Benicia, Concord, Clayton, Martinez, Pleasant Hill, Vallejo, Pittsburg and Walnut Creek. For more information please visit the Assemblymember’s website, www.assembly.ca.gov/a14.
