Statement on Governor Brown Signing 2017-2018 State Budget

For immediate release:

(SACRAMENTO) – Following Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. signing the 2017-2018 state budget Assemblymember Tim Grayson (D-Concord) issued the below statement.

“I’m pleased to support our state’s seventh consecutive, on-time, fiscally responsible and balanced budget that protects the gains we have made over the past few years while also investing in our future. This budget continues to increase funding for all levels of education, maintains the Middle Class Scholarship so college is more affordable for more Californians, builds our rainy day reserve to $9.9 billion, and saves us billions by reducing our pension liabilities and stabilizing contribution rates."

Referencing a $3.5 million appropriation for the GoMentum station in Concord Grayson continued, “the work that GoMentum is doing will produce technological breakthroughs that will enable us to provide safer, more efficient transportation in our cities while also protecting our environment. California should continue to lead the world in transportation innovation, and I am proud that the Governor supported this measure.”

Tim Grayson represents the 14th Assembly District that includes the communities of Benicia, Concord, Clayton, Martinez, Pleasant Hill, Vallejo, Pittsburg and Walnut Creek. For more information please visit the Assemblymember’s website, www.assembly.ca.gov/a14.
