(SACRAMENTO) – Assemblymember Tim Grayson (D – Concord) released the following statement after this morning’s incident at Valero’s refinery in Benicia:
“This morning the Valero refinery in Benicia experienced a power outage, which made it necessary to vent gas from one of their facilities. Residents in the area reported seeing a plume of black smoke coming from the refinery, and many reported the incident to public safety officials.
“My highest priority is the safety of my constituents and I have engaged with PG&E, Valero and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District to ensure that there is no danger to residents in the area. I will continue to monitor the situation as it unfolds.”
