(Sacramento, CA) – Earlier today Assemblymember Timothy S. Grayson (D-Concord) attended the inauguration of Governor Gavin Newsom alongside his fellow legislators, state leaders, and others.
“This afternoon it was an honor to join my colleagues and all of California in welcoming Gavin Newsom as our 40th governor,” said Assemblymember Grayson. “I look forward to working with Governor Newsom on some of the most critical issues facing our state: addressing our housing crisis, fighting to end child poverty, increasing healthcare coverage, and strengthening our middle class.”
Echoing Governor Newsom’s call to be pioneering optimists looking toward the future, Grayson noted, “Much work lies ahead but as the history of our state teaches us, when we set ambitious goals and work diligently there is little we cannot accomplish.”
Grayson also thanked former governor Edmund G. Brown saying, “For 16 years Jerry Brown faithfully served our state as governor and through his leadership has reinforced California’s distinction as a global leader in social and economic policy. It’s been my pleasure to work with former governor Brown in the Legislature and I wish him and his family the best as they begin a new life chapter.”
Tim Grayson represents the 14th Assembly District that includes the communities of Benicia, Concord, Clayton, Martinez, Pleasant Hill, Vallejo, Pittsburg and Walnut Creek. For more information please visit the Assemblymember’s website, www.assembly.ca.gov/a14.
