Assemblymember Grayson Honors Choice in Aging as Nonprofit of the Year

For immediate release:

(SACRAMENTO) Today Assemblymember Timothy S. Grayson (D-Concord) presented a resolution honoring Choice in Aging, an organization that provides comprehensive supports and services for our aging population, as the 14th Assembly District’s Nonprofit of the Year during a ceremony at the State Capitol.

“I am honored to present this resolution to Choice in Aging’s president and CEO, Debbie Toth, in recognition of the foundation’s invaluable contributions to our community,” said Assemblymember Grayson. “Despite being part of our most rapidly expanding population, the barriers that older adults face to living healthy, happy, and independent lives are too often overlooked. Choice in Aging is not only working to ensure those barriers are recognized, but is actively fighting to tear those barriers down to improve the quality of life for our elderly community.”

Since the nonprofit’s founding 70 years ago, Choice in Aging has kept true to its mission of “[promoting] dignity and independence of people with disabilities and special needs.” Currently, Choice in Aging serves the residents of Contra Costa and Solano Counties with vital supports through their Adult Day Health Care programs, Multipurpose Senior Services Programs, and the California Community Transitions project. They also provide other services such as transportation, caregiver support groups, community education, and conferences.

Choice in Aging was one of the many great nonprofits recognized by Assemblymembers and State Senators at the Capitol in celebration of California Nonprofits Day. You can learn more about Choice in Aging and how to contact them by visiting their website.
